The nationwide contest invited law enforcement agencies from across the U.S. to share impactful ways they use mobile and desktop printers beyond traditional traffic citations. The Mustang Police Department stood out for its powerful use of the Brother PocketJet 8 full-page mobile printer to streamline the DUI arrest process and enhance evidence collection and prosecution outcomes.

Initially using 4-inch mobile printers, Mustang officers faced challenges printing full-size legal documents in the field. The limitations meant returning to the station for warrants, delaying testing during time-sensitive DUI investigations.
For DUI cases with a strict two-hour testing window, the old process created delays and added stress. We transitioned to the Brother PocketJet because it’s mobile, easy-to-use, and prints full-page documents right at the scene.
Over the past five years, Lt. Wilson helped digitize full-size legal forms, enabling officers to print search warrants and affidavits directly from patrol vehicles. During a multi-agency DUI checkpoint in December 2024, Mustang PD used the PocketJet to print judge-approved search warrants on site. The operation resulted in nine DUI arrests in just two and a half hours, helping officers obtain timely, court-admissible blood test evidence.
“Having full-page, court-approved forms available in the field gives us a significant advantage,” added Lt. Wilson. “It leads to stronger cases and more successful prosecutions.”
In recognition of its win, the Mustang Police Department donated its $500 prize to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Oklahoma as part of its Law Enforcement Recognition Event in Tulsa on September 25, 2025.
