Here’s how:

  1. In the office, the project manager or system designer uses CAD to plan the network infrastructure, and then uploads cable ID and component identifiers to LinkWare Live, Fluke Networks Cabling Certification tester and report management application
  2. A contractor downloads and installs the Brother LabelLink mobile app to his/her mobile device
  3. Using their smartphone, the contractor or technician can download label identifiers from LinkWare Live via the LabelLink app without leaving the jobsite
  4. The database with the identifiers is transferred directly to the EDGE PT-550W industrial labeler to create and print laminated labels
  5. On the jobsite, the contractor or technician can also download the same identifiers into the Fluke Networks Versiv Cabling Certification System to perform tests, and can upload testing results for each identifier using LinkWare Live

LinkWare Live

This new practice of labeling and testing installed cable systems is powered by Fluke Networks LinkWare Live API and Brother’s P-touch EDGE PT-E550W industrial labeler using the Brother LabelLink mobile app. It enables system designers to centralize project data to be accessed wirelessly by labeling and testing devices – a significant technical development that can cut costs and increase the quality and efficiency of cabling projects. This method saves time and minimizes error for onsite workers and technicians responsible for installing, labeling, testing, certifying and documenting the finished installation. The solution not only ensure accuracy and consistency of the network labeling scheme as designed and built, but also provides the foundation for an effective cable management program going forward.
